Starting a Chat

Chat is the core way to interact with Arketic's AI assistants. Ask questions, search documents, create tasks, generate reports — all in natural conversation.

The Home Screen​

When you open Arketic, you land on the chat home: a greeting, the question "What would you like to explore today?", and an input that says "Ask Arketic anything...".

New Chat

  • Assistant chips above the input show your recommended assistants — pick one, or stay with the default Arketic AI
  • Type your message and press Enter — the conversation is created on your first send
  • You can also start from New Chat in the sidebar, or from an assistant's Start Chat button

You can also chat inside a Project — the AI then remembers context across all of that project's conversations.

The Input Toolbar​

Next to the input you'll find:

  • + menu — Upload File, Prompts (pre-made prompt templates), and for managers Select Employee
  • Tools menu — toggle Web Search and Document Search on or off for the conversation
  • Thinking mode — choose how deeply the AI thinks (see Thinking Modes)
  • Send — turns into a Stop button while the AI is answering

Sending Messages​

Type naturally — no commands or special syntax:

  • "What's our refund policy?"
  • "Create a task for the marketing team to review the Q2 report"
  • "Summarize the employee handbook"
  • "Show me all open tasks assigned to me"

Chat Conversation

Understanding Responses​

Responses are formatted text — headings, lists, tables, links. Plus:

  • Sources — a collapsible panel listing the documents used, each with a relevance score, and any web sources
  • Source-backed response — a badge shown when the answer is well grounded in your documents
  • Suggested questions — clickable follow-up chips after an answer (when the assistant has them enabled)

Arketic AI can make mistakes — double-check important answers, and use the Sources panel to verify where information came from.

Message Actions​

Hover a response for: Copy, Regenerate (last answer), Continue (if the answer was cut short), and 👍 / 👎 feedback.

Taking Actions Through Chat​

Ask the AI to do something — create a task, submit a request, start a process — and it will show a confirmation before acting. See Using AI Tools.

Chat History​

Everything is saved automatically:

  • Recent conversations appear in the sidebar
  • All Chats shows your full history with search
