Using Assistants

Each AI assistant has different knowledge and capabilities based on how your admin configured it.

Starting a Chat with an Assistant

From the Assistants Page

  1. Go to Assistants in the sidebar
  2. Find the assistant you want
  3. Click "Start Chat"
  4. You're taken to a new chat with that assistant selected

From the Chat

  1. Click "New Chat"
  2. Select the assistant from the assistant picker

What Makes Each Assistant Different

Your admin configures each assistant with:

SettingWhat It Means for You
Knowledge accessWhich documents and departments the assistant can search
Available toolsWhat actions it can perform (create tasks, search, etc.)
PersonalityHow it communicates (concise vs detailed, formal vs casual)
SpecializationWhat domain it's an expert in
tip

If an assistant can't answer a question, it might not have access to the relevant documents. Try asking the general Arketic AI assistant instead, or ask your admin to update the assistant's knowledge access.

Tips

  • Match the assistant to the question — use the HR assistant for HR questions, not the general assistant
  • Be clear about what you need — even specialized assistants work better with specific, detailed requests
  • Try different assistants — if one doesn't give a good answer, another might have better access to the information you need
  • Provide feedback — use the 👍/👎 buttons on responses to help improve assistant quality
