Start a Process (Self-Serve)

Some processes are meant to be started by anyone — like requesting onboarding for a new hire. When an admin or manager opens a process to the team, members and managers can launch it themselves with just a title. No need to know the steps or who does what.

Where to Find It

Go to Tasks → Start a Process.

Starting a Process

  1. Browse the available processes (switch between Tenant and Department scope)
  2. Enter a title for your run (e.g. "ABC Company Onboarding")
  3. Click Start, then Confirm
caution

Starting a process can't be undone — tasks are created and assigned to the relevant people right away.

Who the Tasks Go To

Each process shows a This process will route to preview, so you know who will get the work before you start — for example:

  • You (whoever starts it)
  • Your department manager
  • The General Manager

If something can't be resolved (like a missing department manager), you'll see a hint so you can sort it out first.

Your Recent Starts

The tab keeps a short history of the processes you've recently started, with the date and title.

For Admins & Managers

You make a process self-serve from the launch panel when running a blueprint — set a default title, choose who it's visible to (the whole organization or a single department), and turn on "Let members/managers start this." See Running Blueprints.

Tips

  • Give a clear title — it's how you'll recognize your run in the process list
  • Check the routing preview before starting so the work lands with the right people
  • Track progress in Blueprints → Processes (managers) or via the tasks you receive
